Our congratulations to Randy Hammer, Pastor of United Church (Chapel on the Hill) 
Oak Ridge, TN, on the publication of his book 52 Ways to Ignite Your Congregation: 
Practical Hospitality, published by The Pilgrim Press. Randy, recently called to United 
Church (Chapel on the Hill), Oak Ridge, TN, a community church, not affiliated with the 
United Church of Christ last served First Congregational UCC, Albany, NY. 

We welcome Mike Hickcox, installed in his specialized ministry by the Alabama- 
Tennessee Association at their Annual Meeting on April 24th. Mike has been called to 
serve in the United Methodist Resources Audio Division, headquartered in Nashville. He 
is a member of Brookmeade Congregational UCC, Nashville. 

Congratulations to Anita Hauenstein, called by the Southeast Conference to her 
ministry as a therapist in private practice in Nashville on the occasion of her installation 
at the Alabama-Tennessee Association Annual Meeting, also April 24th. Anita is the 
leader of the Nashville Comma Connection and a member of Brookmeade 
Congregational UCC. 

Dorinda Broadnax was renewed as a licensed minister of the UCC on April 24th by 
the Alabama-Tennessee Association. She described her ministry as an interim minister 
at Village Christian Church (DOC) in Auburn, AL, her campus ministry at Alabama 
State, her pulpit supply at First Christian Church (DOC), Montgomery, First 
Congregational UCC, Talladega, First Congregational UCC, Montgomery, as 
well as her continuing work with Community Congregational UCC, Montgomery. 
Her license was renewed for three years. 

Cindy Andrews-Looper, pastor of Holy Trinity 
Community UCC, Nashville, was approved for a 
renewal of her license for ministry for three years. Cindy 
is one of three candidates in the Southeast Conference 
for privilege of call leading to recognition of her 
ordination under the new terms of the Ministry Issues 
Pronouncement Implementation. She reported to the 
Church and Ministry Committee of the Alabama- 
Tennessee Association that the congregation now has 
over 17 small groups meeting across the greater Nashville 
area, that they were proud to have grown from 90 
members three years ago to having 485 people in 

worship on Easter Sunday. They are now in the process of seeking a new and larger 

location so that they can continue their growth. 

Christophe Ringer, pastor of Howard Congregational UCC, Nashville was 
approved for a three year renewal of his license for ministry. He noted that the 
congregation continues to grow and be revitalized, that they are attracting student from 
nearby Fisk University who are drawn by the values and mission of the United Church 
of Christ. Their worshipping congregation has grown from 15-20 to 40-50 weekly. 

Reginald Holloway, pastor of First Congregational UCC, Talladega who also 
renewed for licensed ministry by the Alabama-Tennessee Association. He reported that 
the church is celebrating 141 years of caring and sharing throughout 2009, and has 
undertaken renovations to the property. They have a TAP class and have enjoyed a 
renewed sense of purpose in their ministry. 

Ben Rose, member of Central Congregational UCC, was 

approved for ordination at an Ecclesiastical Council of the Georgia 
South Carolina Association on April 4th. Ben is called to ministry as 
chaplain with Transitions Hospice Care. His service of ordination 
will take place at Central Congregational UCC, June 21st at

church start, announced the birth of Ella Grace, on April 21st, her daughter with her 
partner Bones. 

Allen Mullinax, Director of Music at Pilgrimage UCC, Marietta, and a UCC 

minister in private practice shared the news that his mother died following surgery on 
April 30th. The funeral is scheduled for May 2nd.
